Women More Hold Against Flu Than Men
Queensland, flu’s disease can affect anyone and any age. But if there is a flu virus in the air, then women will be able to survive while the men will fall ill with flu.
Researchers from Australia found that female volunteers had immune system responseis more robust against rhinovirus, the virus that can cause the common cold than men. These conditions lead to the emergence of the term man flu.
This is influenced by hormones that women-owned, so that makes men more likely to beill if infected with the virus. But the protection of women will be lost when she enteredmenopause.
“We saw when women reach menopause, the ability to resist fading rhinovirus. So it is clear that the hormone plays a major role in helping fight the virus,” said Professor JohnUpham from the University of Queensland, as quoted by the Telegraph.
During the term ’man flu’ is only considered a myth, but the researchers actually found that it is real. Men are more vulnerable and susceptible to flu than women.
The researchers concluded this study suggests that pre-menopausal women have an adaptive immune response is more robust against rhinovirus infection than men andolder people.
In this study, researchers examined the response of the immune system of 63 healthyparticipants. The results of this study have also been reported in the journal RespiratoryResearch.
Although this virus would only interfere in healthy people, but if you attack people whohave asthma or chronic lung disease can be very annoying and even dangerous.
