Colorado, Toddler takes longer sleep than adults. That’s why toddlers who sleep less can be more stressful afternoon and unhappy, the risk of developing mental problems later in her life.
This was revealed from the results of new research conducted by researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Such findings indicate that young children who have lost just once nap time could be moreanxious and less interested in their world. Children who nap are also less happy and lessdifficult to cope with stress.
And in the long run, lack of sleep can even cause problems associated with a lifetimemood.
In this study, researchers measured the sleep patterns of infants aged 2 to 3 years by wearing a special device that measures how much they sleep. The researcher thendescribed the toddler’s expression when they get a nap and other expressions during naploss.
The results have been published in the Journal of Sleep Research, showed that infantslooked tired and 34 percent less positive when less get a nap. They also became 3 timesmore stress than those getting enough sleep.
Children who lack sleep are also 39 percent to less curiosity, so it becomes not care about the environment around it.
“The study suggests lack of sleep can cause a toddler to express a different feeling, whichfrom time to time may establish emotional brain development and puts them at risk of problems associated with a lifetime mood,” explains Prof. LeBourgeois from theUniversity of Colorado Boulder, as reported Dailymail.
Just like good nutrition, continued Prof. LeBourgeois, enough sleep is also a basicrequirement.
