Tips to Protect Feet from Fungus Nails
Nail fungal infections can last a long time for many years without causing pain or othercomplaints. But the infected nail may become thicker, discolored or brittle making thenails look dull and uninteresting.
The American Podiatric Medical Association suggested a way to prevent fungalinfections in the feet, as quoted by Epharmapedia, among others:
1. Wash your feet with soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
2. Check your feet and toes regularly to see if there is cracked skin and itching or not.
3. Do not go barefoot in public bathrooms.
4. Change your socks and shoes more than once a day.
5. Trim toenails regularly
6. Wear shoes with proper size or fit and allows air circulation inside the shoe ormade ??of materials that are not stuffy, and do not wear socks that are too tight.
7. Wear socks made of synthetic materials instead of cotton or wool so that the foot is not humid.
8. Disinfect or sterilize nail clippers or other foot care devices regularly.
9. Do not use nail polish (polish) in advance if you suspect a fungus in the toenails.
