Phnom Penh, Up to 2 years old, a child is not advisable to drink milk formula which is generally made from cow’s milk. But the 1.5-year-old boy in Cambodia even suckle directly from the cow, because she left work abroad.

The boy named Than Sophat origin Nokor Phea Village, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia was forced to suckle directly from the cow because it is no longer breastfed by his mother. This habit of doing since July 2011, when his mother went migrate to Thailand for work.

His grandfather, Um Oeung 46-year-old said that the boy began sickly since her mother’s departure abroad. Oeung suspect, endurance beloved grandson was declined because it is actually still need the nutrients in breast milk .

Without realizing it earlier by Oeung, this boy apparently often play into the cowshed.The boy observes how the cow nursing her child, then quietly follow the behavior of a calf that is slipped under the cow stomach and then sucking her nipples.

Looking at the behavior of his grandson, Oeung’ve been trying to stop it by pulling it away from the cowshed. But what happens, Sophat actually cried and struggled so long ago Oeung not bear to let him suckle from the cow.

Oeung who could not forbid his grandson finally exposed to the sap after the neighbors and health officials in the province of Siem Reap compact blame the grandfather.However the boy should not be breastfed by the mother cow because her nipples are not clean can cause diarrhea.

“They (neighbors and officials) blame me and told me to prohibit Sophat suckling on the cow. They also said, later Sophat be embarrassed if it has been great,” said Oeung as quoted from Dailymail.

To anticipate things that are not desirable, Oeung began to take a firm stand. Since Saturday (10/08/2011), he began to restrict Sophat to suckle at the mother cow maximum of 1 time / day and will continue to be reduced the frequency gradually.
