One important issue for adolescents when a parent is dealing with sexual activity and how to do it safely. With the potential risk of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections are higher then the parents should worry about their children, especially if they grow more independent.

Research conducted by the organization Parent Action for Healthy Kids in the United States found that fathers can make a big difference to prevent teen pregnancy.

“The behavior and attachment to the father of the child at every stage of development can influence decisions related to children’s sexual activity and contraception to be used in the future,” said Barb FLIS, founder of Parent Action for Healthy Kids as reported from sexualhealth.
