Later diabetes epidemic seems to be due to the deviations of diet and lifestyle of the people of the world. The risk was almost inevitable.
Therefore, scientists are racing to find a variety of factors and methods that can be used to prevent and treat the disease.
One of them pointed to a new study from Thailand which showed that the main ingredients in curry is turmeric spice can help keep yourself from the risk of diseases that affect blood sugar.
The study, published in the journal Diabetes Care found that people who belong to the group of prediabetes and capsules of curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, risk of developing type 2 diabetes is smaller than that of patients not taking these capsules.
“This study demonstrates that curcumin intervention in the prediabetes population may be beneficial,” said the researcher.
The study involved 240 people with prediabetes who were asked to take curcumin capsules or placebo for 9 months. Researchers followed the progress of participants in the 3rd month, the 6th and 9th.
At month 9, 16.4 percent of participants who took a placebo instead of type 2 diabetes. In contrast to the group of participants who took curcumin none have developed diabetes.
