The researchers also students from the Dutch Delft University of Technology has developed a pen that can measure and reduce stress levels.
“People often play with a pen when she was depressed. That is why I have developed a pen that can detect the movement of ‘nervous’ and determine whether the user is being depressed,” said Miguel Bruns Alonso, principal investigator,Thursday (2010 / 12/23.)
Alonso said, when it detects rapid movement associated with stress, pen gradually become more difficult to move. This encourages the user to move in a more relaxed.
This is because the pen is equipped with an internal electromagnet that serves as a balancing effect, so that when the brain and the heart rate indicates distress, then the pen will be more difficult to move.
From the results of tests performed, this pen can be used to detect short-term stress and also can lower your heart rate an average of 5 percent.
“This pen allows the user to reduce short-term stress in a way that does not interfere, and also directly change behavior, and provide warnings to users about their stress levels,” explained Alonso.
According to Alonso, running pen prototype anti-stress‘ is not available in the market because it is still in development stage further.
