yousuf-raza-gilaniLahore, When the lifeless body of a lot of actual human organs can still be used for people who need them. Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani also vowed to give his heart when he died.

PM Giani announced the decision to donate the liver when he died on Saturday, November 27, 2010. He hopes that will be donated organ will be helping others who need it.

“I want to become the first heart donor and hope this gesture will inspire others as well,” said Prime Minister Gilani.

PM Gilani promised donor liver when inaugurated the first liver transplant centers in Pakistan at Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore. He at once gave grants 100 million Pakistan rupees (U.S. $ 1.165 million).

The number of patients suffering from liver disease in Pakistan is very high. And that countries whose population is majority Muslim now beginning to develop its own liver transplant program. During this time, the patient is able who want heart surgery generally have medical treatment abroad because there is no liver transplant facilities in Pakistan.

The decision to become an organ donor is a decision that requires courage. Organs that can be donated are the heart, corneas, kidneys, pancreas and liver (heart) if a person is dead. Donating organs can save at least three people. From the medical side to be aware of these organs must be healthy.

As did Nicholas Green, 7-year-old boy died from a stray bullet shot in Italy. Prior to the grave, his body organs of the heart, corneas, kidneys, pancreas and liver (liver) donated to save seven lives.

Compared to other countries that continue to try to apply the liver transplant surgery, Indonesia seems to still lag far. Though the number of hepatitis patients in Indonesia did not lose much. There are about 20 million people with hepatitis B and C are largely left them with chronic and need liver transplantation.
