Some famous artists known to have dyslexia, the inability to see words that are spelled correctly. This condition is estimated to affect 1 in 12 children.
The most common symptom people with dyslexia are difficulty reading and spelling. Unlike the usual learning disorders, difficulty spell on people with dyslexia is not caused by a lack of intelligence.
This disorder is a genetic disorder experienced by individuals with Intelegency Quotient (IQ) of normal or even above average.
Researchers from Middlesex University thinks that there are things that can be explained in behind some of the most famous works of art like the Mona Lisa. After all the scientists believe that there could be differences between the pictures graffiti with a work of art produced.
In this case the researchers tested the visuo-spatial ability, the ability to process 3D information of the 41 participants who have dyslexia.
This capability is an important matter in determining the artistic talent. Researchers found that people with dyslexia have a better capability in terms of its 3D information.
The study published in the journal Learning and Individual Differences said although most people with dyslexia have problems in terms of spelling, reading and writing but he has a better understanding in terms of imagination or 3D space.
“Many people with dyslexia would rather resolve the problem by way of thinking and doing things than by talking. It allows people with dyslexia develop the skills needed to succeed in the field of artistic creativity as well,” said Dr Nicola Brunswick, as the head of research, as quoted from the Telegraph on Monday (15/11/2010).
This is what is believed by scientists that the key to the success of the works produced paintings by Pablo Picasso and Leonardo da Vinci because he had dyslexia.
In addition to Picasso and da Vinci, there are many other major figures who also holds dyslexia as physicist Albert Einstein, former U.S. president George W Bush and actor Tom Cruise. This shows the people can still perform while have diskeksia.
