Dunoon, Scotland, A woman has been deaf to hear again after implant surgery. But to regain the sense of hearing, he must exchange it with the sense of taste. The operation caused him to lose the ability to taste or feel the food.

Soozie Tarkenter (40 years) is very happy when the doctor said that could make cochlear implants which enabled him to hear for the first time.

But when the transplant surgery (implants), these devices are so close to the nerves in his face, making Soozie completely numb and lose the ability to taste.

“I can not believe the difference that occurs after switching on the implant. I could hear everything clearly, it’s very strange. But at the same time, because the implant is very close to the facial nerves, I lost the ability to feel,” said Soozie Tarkenter , as reported by Dailymail.

After surgery, Soozie menengguk favorite drink and that’s when he realized that he had lost the ability to taste food. Soozie sensory feeling on hoping to return to normal. But if it does not happen, he perceive it is only a small price to pay for the return he could hear.

“It (the ability to feel and taste) may be back, but if not it is a small price to pay so that I could hear again,” said Soozie.

Soozie realize not heard since the age of 18. It happened when he was attending school in Dunoon, Scotland. when his grades began to fall. When he knows that he does not can not understand the lessons, but he could only listen to the teacher who spoke in a tone very high.

Immediately after examination, Soozie must use analog hearing aids for the first time.

“Everyone at school thinks I’m stupid. I have always struggled (to learn) and I do not know why (its value is always bad). It turns out I can not hear, but I always like that so I think everyone equal to me,” he explained.

When using hearing aids, Soozie think everything will get better. Apparently the contrary, everything goes semakkin horrible.

“People think wearing a hearing aid just like wearing glasses, that the hearing will immediately be fine. It’s not like that. Hearing aids only strengthen all the ‘junk’ around me. I think my life is over,” Soozie said.

But on 19 August last year, he has been equipped with electronic cochlear implants, which is dissected by inserted into the inner ear. When the implant is activated a week later, he could hear everything.

“My first song with the Lost in Music from Sister Sledge. It is amazing to listen to the words and melody. But this is changing my life. I miss some taste like wine, but I do not have spiciness bonus when eating curry,” he concluded.
