Texas, after completion of exercise such as treadmill, someone usually consumeisotonic drinks. But recent studies have found that chocolate milk is a beverage that is more ideal for restoring the body after exercise.
Two recent studies conducted by researchers from The University of Texas at Austinsuggests that the more ideal milk chocolate consumed to restore the condition of a person’s body after exercise.
“Athletes amateur get himself better in the process of physical recovery after astrenuous workout when he drank low-fat chocolate milk,” said study leader, Dr. John Ivy,as quoted from Dailymail.
Dr. Ivy said that the participants who participated in the study had body composition aremore muscle and less fat, and overall physical recovery is better than the otherparticipants who consumed a sports drink.
“We do not yet understand exactly how the mechanism that occurs when someone is eating milk chocolate it will provide significant benefits,” says Dr. Ivy.
Compared with white milk, water or sports drinks, milk chocolate contains twice as much carbohydrate and protein are suitable to overcome the tired muscles afterexercise.
If a person to consume water after a workout then it only serves to replace the fluid that comes out of the body through sweat, preventing dehydration, whereas in chocolate milkit provides carbohydrates to the muscles that can be metabolized.
In this study, Dr. Ivy and his team compared the benefits of eating low-fat chocolate milkwith sports drinks consumed by 10 athletes bikes as well as 32 amateur cyclists. The results of this study have been published in The Journal of Strength and ConditioningResearch.
