Current comprehensive health insurance or universal health coverage can not be applied in Indonesia. One of the things that makes it difficult because many are not willing to pay the insurance of the poor by the government.

PLT Menkes RI also wamenkes Gufron Prof Ali said the current condition of the country similar to Indonesia and was able to run a universal health coverage are Brazil, Mexico and Thailand.

“The three countries are almost similar to Indonesia viewed from the per capita income, they can run but we are more complex and dynamic,” said Prof. Ali Gufron in a media gathering at the Strathmore Building, Jakarta.

Prof Ali said the participants from these countries were divided into 3 groups: the group of participants formal civil servants, civil servants of non formal participants and informal groups of participants.

For both groups of participants formal civil servants and non civil servants pay their own insurance, while the informal taxes paid by the government. But if there is a formal, informal participant, it must membaya own dues.

“It is in our difficult because many are not willing to have informal participants are paid by the government,” said Prof Ali.

Prof. Ali explains informal but if participants have to pay for the cost it takes to collect. Officers should look for first in which farmers live and then collect them one by one.

“For example, whose contributions to Rp 10,000 per month, if it could be informal pocket cost for an informal gathering is equal to or greater than the dues paid,” he said.

For the implementation of universal health coverage in Indonesia is more complex and dynamic. Prof Ali said work in Indonesia is more severe because the Director General on the work here is also more severe.
