Description

Acyclovir including a class of antiviral drugs used to treat infections caused by certaintypes of viruses. This drug can treat wounds or lumps filled with water around the mouth caused by herpes simplex, herpes zoster and chickenpox. It can also be used to treat genital herpes (herpes in the sex organs).

Acyclovir is an antiviral drug, but is actually not a drug to kill the herpes virus or chickenpox. Viruses that cause infections continue to live in the body, but these drugs can reduce the severity and speed healing.

contraindications

dose
Per oral (by mouth)

1. In the treatment of acute zoster HEPES
800 mg every 4 hours, 5xsehari orally for 7-10 days.

2. In the treatment of genital herpes
200 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 10 days.

3. In the treatment for chickenpox
Children (> 2 years):
20 mg / kg 4xsehari dose (80 mg / kg per day) for 5 days. Children over 40 kg should receive adult doses.
Adults and children above 40 kg:
4xsehari 800 mg for 5 days.
