Laughter Increase IVF Success
Some couples who are trying to get pregnant sometimes experience failure during IVF. But the study revealed the success of IVF can be improved with a laugh.
Recent studies have shown to give a joke or a funny magic trick with 15 minutes immediately after fertility treatment could increase nearly 2 times more likely to get pregnant.
An expert fertility as well as mime artists believe that the dose of laughter can help keep and get rid of stress, thus making pregnancy more likely.
In this study, Professor Shevach Friedler track the success of more than 200 women who underwent fertility treatment at his clinic in Israel. All participants perform engineering IVF (in vitro fertilization / IVF) as usual, but after the embryo implanted in the patient, half the participants were treated to ‘medical clown’ for 15 minutes.
Medical clown does not use a red nose, but a chef’s uniform and tell jokes about the food. Besides, he also did magic tricks that can make someone laugh.
Based on this research is known for 36.4 percent of women who get entertainment clown and magic managed to get pregnant, while the group that did not get the entertainment of only 20.2 percent of successful pregnancy. The results of this study are reported in the journal American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
“I believe entertainment at the bedside will make women feel relaxed and free from the stress of the grueling IVF process,” said Professor Friedler.
The failure of the process of planting an embryo depends on the ability of the uterus arrested embryos. In addition there are also some other factors that make IVF techniques fail to achieve pregnancy. This failure is sometimes a spouse must repeat again and require greater cost.
