According to a study in Australia, led by Professor Mike Gidley of the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, two types of mango skin called Irwin mango and Nam Dok Mai mango can slow the buildup of fat in human cells.
The skin of these two types of mangoes are rich in bioactive ingredients.”Our findings suggest that the phytochemical composition of the mango is effective in inhibiting the process of adipogenesis, which is a process that plays an important lead to obesity. Mango skin is a useful source of nutrients to cells,” said prof Counselheal.com Gidley.
In a study published in the journal Food & Function, researchers analyzed the chemical components of the skin and flesh extracts from three kinds of mangoes. Result, the skin of the mango variety Nam Dok Mai Irwin and significantly inhibited the process of adipogenesis, or fat-storing cells.”We know mangoes contain nutrients that are good. But more research needs to be done to understand the complex natural compounds found in fruits and other fruits,” said Gidley.
