Condition penis locked inside the vagina with the penis called captivus. In simple terms this condition occurs when a woman’s vaginal muscles clamped with a man’s penis that makes it locked tight.
Penis captivus commonly occurs in animals, but not in humans. This is because there is no medical documentation that records the penis captivus occur in humans in the last 100 years.
Yet according to studies reported in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) says the condition is not entirely a myth.
“This condition is almost the same with vaginismus in humans, namely vaginal muscle spasms unintentional which makes sexual intercourse painful or even impossible,” said Dr. Laura Berman, American sexual health experts on Wednesday (08/12/2010).
In other words spontaneous clenched muscles is known as a defense mechanism when something is inserted into the vagina, whether it’s a penis, tampon or medical equipment for the vaginal ultrasound.
“In many cases, women and couples assume this because of lack of desire. But many women who experience vaginismus want to have sex with her partner, but they found his body can not work together,” said Berman.
Vaginismus is considered a common condition and is a sexual dysfunction in women who are often found throughout the world. One survey conducted by CETAD (association of sexual medicine education and research) tells us vaginismus rate in Turkey reached 10 percent, which is 1 in 10 women can not have sex in their entirety.
There are several symptoms that appear when someone is having vaginismus, namely:
1. Fear of sexual intercourse with her partner and could not penetrate at all.
2. Partial sexual intercourse (only part of the penis that can go into the vagina).
3. Can not insert an ultrasound instrument or pads into the vagina.
4. Grimace or fear of gynecological examination.
“Vaginismus may occur due to long-term genital pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, past trauma associated with painful memories or the fear of losing control,” he said.
According to Berman solution for vaginismus is located at the source, namely the body and mind. In particular, more women are expected to learn to control the muscles of the vagina. Among key is to recognize tension and relaxation in the pelvis.
