Avoidant Personality Disorder
avoidan personality disorder is a psychiatric condition marked by shyness, feelings of inadequacy, and extreme sensitivity to rejection of a lifetime. These disorders cause problems in work and social relationships with the environment. Until now, the cause of this disorder is not known for certain.
Symptoms
Patients with this disorder relate only to those who believed would not refuse to do. To avoid rejection, people with more usually shut themselves from others.
Treatment
Antidepressants can often reduce sensitivity to rejection. Psychotherapy, particularly cognitive-behavioral approach, can help patients overcome the disorder. Another alternative to more effective treatment is with a combination of medication and therapy.
