Cincinnati, Ohio, Still can be very deadly, a stroke can also be treated with drugs as long as it’s not too late. Unfortunately, 1 of 7 stroke occurs when a person is sleeping so it can not be treated because the symptoms are not visible.

Dr. Jason Mackey from the University of Cincinnati revealed that after performing a search of medical records at various hospitals throughout 2005. The hospital which became the location of data collection among others are in Ohio and Kentucky.

The data collected, Dr Mackey found that 1852 cases of stroke iskhemik stroketriggered by a blockage of blood flow to the brain. In contrast to stroke hemoraghitriggered rupture of blood vessels, type of stroke is more easily treated with blood clotdrug solvent.

Unfortunately, the many cases of stroke iskhemik found, 273 or about 15 percent of which occur when a person is sleeping. Because the symptoms were not initiallyrecognized, a stroke that occurred during sleep is generally too late to get treatment.

Though drugs such as blood clots solvent Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA) is onlyeffective if given later than 1.5 hours after stroke symptoms appear. If late, it mustquickly rushed to the hospital because they need medical intervention.

“People who had a stroke while sleeping can not get drugs. This problem is veryserious,” said Dr. Mackey in his report published in the journal Neurology, was quoted as saying by Reuters on Tuesday.

In order not to be late, Dr. Mackey suggested that people who have a history of strokerisk or even to be aware of the symptoms experienced during waking. If you wake up in a difficult condition to talk, hard to walk or stroke, call an ambulance.
